Fuel

If you read this blog you know that I have been on an exercise/training kick and at this point I finally feel like it has become a lifestyle for me. That seems to be the key on how to keep and maintain. It has to become part of your life. You have to want it, and you have to feel that when you miss it for a day it is a priority that you make in your life. 

Now I have moved on to nutrition and trying to change my lifestyle of eating for the better. If you read then you know I am a pretty die hard fast food fan. One of the big themes of healthy eating is smaller meals 6 times a day. I am not sure about you but I get that starving I am going to faint feeling very easily. After that feeling (if I don't eat) I get CRANKY. This is not good. My husband eats a lot of bars, he has them in his bag all the time so if he gets that feeling he has a bar and he doesn't crash. I hate all those fake oatmeal, crunch, fruity bars - they taste like Styrofoam. However, i finally found a bar that tastes good, that I enjoy, that I don't feel like I am eating to stay alive. Larabars are delish.

The best part of larabars is that there are like 4 ingredients and you can pronounce each ingredient name. I had the apple pie bar today and here are the ingredients, dates, walnuts,unsweetened apples, almonds, raisins and cinnamon. YUM - that is it. This bar tastes great and fills me up. It is the perfect recovery bar after a workout, and a perfect snack for btw meals.
